Lorenza has built a reputation as someone who builds community and hosts gatherings where everyone feels embraced. She enjoys amplifying the work of artists, filmmakers and writers to spearhead cultural conversations, build meaningful community and light up human connection.
Artemis Muse Productions was born to expand on Lorenza's work as the head of member relations and awards at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars) and as a senior executive at Amazon MGM Studios. Artemis Muse brings together thought-leaders, artists and tastemakers to build awareness around creative content and socially minded business or non-profit initiatives.
Known for her discerning taste, Lorenza has impeccable talent relationships and a passion for bringing underrepresented voices to the forefront.

Lorenza was the head of global Member Relations and Awards at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars) and a senior executive for industry and talent relations at Amazon MGM Studios.
Before pivoting to Hollywood, Lorenza was a journalist with the Los Angeles Times for more than a decade. Throughout her varied career, Lorenza has established a reputation as an original thinker who builds creative strategies and connections to achieve a vision.
Among her accomplishments, she led the response to the Academy’s #OscarSoWhite controversy, resulting in a successful governance overhaul, operational reforms and a more inclusive membership.
Lorenza continues to write and is now working on her memoir about her experiences as an internationally ranked swimmer.
Her essay, “American Girl,” was published in the anthology, Border-Line Personalities: A New Generation of Latinas Dish on Sex, Sass, and Cultural Shifting.
Lorenza has moderated and has been featured in several panels on movie industry topics. She has been featured on numerous television and radio appearances including NPR, CNN and local stations.
In 2023 she was honored with the Los Angeles Times’ Inspirational Women’s Forum and Leadership Award for her work as an innovative leader in entertainment and journalism.
Lorenza competed as a swimmer in the World Championships, Pan Am, Pan Pacific Games and for her alma mater, UC Berkeley. Born in Mexico City, she is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, and has three kids, three dogs, tends to an edible garden and enjoys cooking for friends and family.
The figurative painter Chaz Guest, held an intimate event at his gallery that included a conversation with UTA Fine Arts' Creative Director, Arthur Lewis. Chaz's collectors include Lewis, the Obamas — who displayed his portrait of Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court justice, in the White House — and Oprah Winfrey.

This year, as I do every four years, I will watch the opening ceremonies at the Olympics and cry. It won’t be out of idealism or patriotism but regret.
